Aik Kai graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree in 2008. He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore earlier in 2009.

During his pupillage in one of Singapore's top law firms, Aik Kai was involved in several aspects of law, including Litigation, Corporate and Intellectual Property. He assisted in research work, drafting of court documents and client advice, and attended various interlocutory proceedings. In addition, he has volunteered his time at legal clinics and presentations organised by the Insolvency & Public Trustee's Office. He also participated in the 4th Sino-Singapore Undergraduate Exchange Programme in 2007.

Now at Gateway, Aik Kai's practice focuses on Intellectual Property and Litigation matters, including civil claims and IP litigation.

Ai Kai is proficient in both English and Mandarin. However, he is particularly fluent with the Chinese language, and his rich understanding of the Chinese culture, allows him to communicate comfortably with Mandarin-speaking clients.
