Daryl graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree from the National University of Singapore in 1999 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2000.
Daryl assists both local and international clients in the management, protection and enforcement of their intellectual property rights by advising on and undertaking work in relation to a wide range of intellectual property matters. Such matters include civil and criminal litigation, anti-counterfeiting measures, trade mark protection, opposition and enforcement, copyright protection and enforcement and patent and registered design protection and enforcement. Daryl’s clients include multi-national companies in many different industries, statutory boards, education and tertiary institutions and SMEs.
In particular, Daryl has been involved in several patent suits in the Singapore High Court, which are comparatively rare, but important for their contribution to the development of the nascent local patent law. Daryl has also been involved in several important trade mark opposition matters in the Singapore High Court.
In the course of practice, Daryl also deals with other areas of law, including information technology and media law, civil and criminal litigation and corporate, commercial and contractual matters. Daryl has a strong conceptual and working knowledge of technology and the media, and keeps up-to-date with developments in the said industries.
Daryl also speaks frequently at various client-run and pro-bono forums, courses and seminars on IP-related and other Law topics.
